Anthony Brewis
Anthony Brewis is a co-founding partner of CandorSys LLP. He has had many years’
experience working with high net worth families and family offices in managing their
assets. He is a former senior private client manager and business head, with extensive
international knowledge and a background in many areas of banking.
Anthony is also a senior member of Nean Wealth Advisors (NWA), a firm that provides
strategic wealth planning and succession services to wealthy international families.
Prior to joining NWA in June 2002, Anthony was a Director of Scorpio Partnership
Limited, a strategic research and consultancy firm, focusing on the wealth management
industry. At Scorpio Partnership, he was responsible for the consultancy practice
and professional training services.
From 1995 to 1998, he was a director at Kleinwort Benson Investment Management,
where he was head of the international private banking sales team covering Europe,
the Middle East, India and the Far East.
From 1972 to 1995, Anthony worked at JP Morgan, where his responsibilities included
head of private banking for Southeast Asia and Head of the Zurich office for JP
Morgan (Suisse). Anthony also held a number of senior positions within Morgan’s
capital markets, corporate finance and non-credit services operations.
Jeremy Mercer
Jeremy Mercer is a co-founding partner of CandorSys LLP. He also acts as the technology
adviser to a number of institutions and large private family offices. Through his
own IT consulting business, Jeremy works for clients on a wide range of projects
including M&A, IT strategy, IT infrastructure design, system selection, project
and programme management and outsourcing.
Since graduating from Cambridge University in 1983 Jeremy has worked all over the
world delivering IT solutions for financial institutions.
From 1986 to 1989 he worked at Phillip Brothers (part of Salomon Inc). In 1989,
he joined S.G. Warburg and implemented projects in London, New York, Munich, Frankfurt,
Zurich, Geneva, Singapore, Paris and Tokyo.
He was head of development in Warburg’s New York office for 2 years (1994-5) and
then Global Head of IT for the investment bank’s research division.
From 1999 to 2001, he was head of IT for UBS Private Bank in Europe, following the
acquisition of Warburg by UBS.
Carolyn Goldsmith
Carolyn Goldsmith is a CandorSys LLP partner. Her primary responsibilities at Candor
include: system implementation for clients, managing product upgrades and new project
consultancy.
Carolyn worked in IT for Barclays Bank for 21 years, the last 13 of which were in
private banking. She has experience in the development of business strategy through
to implementation of business and IT solutions. Major projects include: responsibility
for the IT elements of a major corporate restructure; rationalisation of a number
of back-offices into one centre; design and implementation of a private client relationship
management system; and development of systems to support a global private client
advisory business.
In 1997, Carolyn was given responsibility for IT for Barclays Private Bank Limited,
the London-based private banking business.
In 2000, Carolyn was made Global Head of IT for Barclays Private Banking. She managed
a multi-million pound IT budget and had responsibility for over 100 staff located
globally supporting 17 private banking offices worldwide.
Carolyn has worked in London, New York, Switzerland and the UK offshore islands.
She also has experience of working in Monaco, Hong Kong and Singapore. She has worked
with regulators and auditors in many jurisdictions - including the Federal Reserve
Bank in the US.
Lesley Willis
Lesley Willis is responsible for system testing and business analysis for CandorSys.
Lesley has worked in the wealth management industry since starting her career in
1990 at Lloyds TSB Private Banking, where she managed an Operations Team. She later
moved to Compliance, implementing central monitoring and control functions within
the Head Office.
In 1997, she retrained as a Business Analyst, working in the IT department of the
Private Bank.
Her projects included the merger with TSB and migrating UNHW clients onto a new
IT platform (both banking and investments). She moved to Barclays Private Banking
as a Business Analyst.
At Barclays, she was involved in the implementation of a new CRM and Credit Risk
system in North America, and the design and installation of a bespoke FX Forwards
and Risk Monitoring System globally, including London, Geneva, Monaco, New York
and Hong Kong.
Lesley then became Head of Business Analysis for the Private Bank. After its merger
with International Banking, she brought together both Business Analysis teams and
had responsibility for the Testing Teams. She was responsible for the Technical
Design for both entities, working on IT strategy and overseeing the design and functionality
of all IT enhancements.
Lesley has a wide knowledge of the private banking business, as well as project
management and implementing in-house and 3rd party software solutions, vendor selection,
IT strategy and risk management.
